Plumbing Part 5 -sewer 1

So, the potable water (both cold and hot) are complete. However, the gray and other used water has to go somewhere. The sewer pipes were original to the house and made of cast iron. They seemed ok. However, the previous owners, in their ultimate wisdom, had changed some of the configuration. In which some of the sewer gas release pipes were connected to the sinks. Yes, that's right the gross used water smells were coming out of the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Let's say it together----EWWW! So, it was decided they needed to be connected to the original pipes/stacks which released the gas through up through the roof. In so doing, the cast iron pipes were to be replaced with pvc. In this section I will show what the inside and outside of the cast iron pipes looked like, making the decision to replace them a much better one. The replacement of pipes will follow.
